Responsibilities:

  • Develop positive relationships with parents, carers, other staff and professional agencies.
  • Assist with the supervision of children at play, meal and sleep times.
  • Understand that each child is an individual and have understanding of or be prepared to develop knowledge of childcare and child development.
  • Observe and record all children’s progress and achievements.
  • Assist with planning age appropriate activities for the children and with creating a stimulating and attractive environment.
  • Attend parent evenings and assist in the promotion of the nursery as required.
  • Attend all staff meetings and training sessions as relevant.
  • Assist with the care, security and maintenance of all equipment and toys within the nursery.
  • Be responsible for participating in self development including appraisals.
  • Share the responsibility for health and safety, hygiene and cleanliness throughout the nursery, including the children’s cleanliness.
  • Be responsible and familiar with all emergency and security procedures, eg, fire drill.
  • Adhere to all Company Policies and Procedures and the Equal Opportunities Policy at all times.
  • Undertake any reasonable other duties as requested by the Manager or Deputy.
