Wax London is a fast-growing Menswear brand with ecommerce, retail and wholesale channels. Born out of a desire to make great clothes with character and integrity, we draw inspiration from vintage and modern shapes and weave in texture, pattern and print to create more than just clothing but pieces full of personality.
We are looking for a talented and experienced Menswear Designer to join our growing Design team at our London studio.

The Role
- Permanent | Full Time 35 hours per week | Hours 09:30 - 17:30

Key Responsibilities
- Reporting into the Design Lead, support the design team to drive commercial and contemporary menswear garments following the Wax London aesthetic.
- With Range Plan and Design Lead trend direction you will have your own areas to drive inspiration, source fabrics and design product. Depending on experience, areas of ownership will be discussed through our interview process.
- Conducting continuous market research.
- Attending fabric fairs and factory visits worldwide - must be able to travel.
- Create clear and detailed tech packs, showing a high level of attention to detail, ready for prototypes and salesman samples.
- Working closely with our Product Development team to ensure designs are allocated to meet factory capabilities, and in line with brand quality, sustainability, price and margin expectations.
- Work to ensure all critical path and deadlines are being met.
- Attend fit meetings and support Garment Tech team to create commercially fitting garments.
- Gain a strong awareness of in season trading and react quickly to lessons learnt.
The Ideal Candidate
- Passionate about the menswear industry and looking for a role in a fast growing brand.
- A minimum of 5 years experience in total with at least 2 years at Designer level.
- Enjoy a collaborative working environment.
- Proven history of combining innovation with a commercial understanding.
- Experience creating high standard tech packs.
- A good understanding of manufacturing and factory capabilities.
- A good understanding of fabrics and experience of fabric development.
- Strong market awareness of global trends and the retail market.
- Experience working fully factored and CMT.
- Must be experienced with Adobe illustrator.
