WAVY-TV 10/ WVBT FOX43 is seeking a dynamic HAMPTON ROADS SHOW INTERN to work with producers to plan and prep our daily lifestyle and entertainment show.

Duties include:

  • Floor directing during the show
  • Greeting and assisting guests with microphones
  • Prop setup and takedown
  • Cleaning and wrapping the set after each show
  • Moving cameras
  • Kitchen cleanup
  • Posting stories to the website

Responsibilities:

  • Support the daily show by assisting producers with planning and prep
  • Floor directing during the broadcast
  • Greet guests and assist with mic placement
  • Set up and break down props and set pieces; clean and wrap the set after each show
  • Move cameras as needed and assist with on-set logistics
  • Perform kitchen cleanup and assist with general studio upkeep
  • Post stories to the website as assigned

Interns set up and clean up the studio, take photos in the studio, and serve as a floor director during the show.

Qualifications:

  • Courses completed in communications, TV production, journalism, theater or related field
  • Ability to stay calm under tight deadlines and communicate effectively with the team and guests
  • Enrollment in a college degree–granting program; must provide proof of enrollment in an internship course within that program before starting
  • Willingness to learn the inner workings of a local newsroom and how all departments support each other

Details:

  • 12-15 morning hours per week on site; some weekdays
  • Specific times Monday through Friday may vary and will be set in agreement with a supervisor
  • This is an unpaid / for-credit internship for Fall semester 2026 only
