Wavin, part of Orbia’s Building & Infrastructure (B&I) business group, is looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join our Chippenham site and play a key role in keeping our production assets running safely, reliably, and efficiently.
About the Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader, you’ll focus primarily on planned preventative maintenance (PPM) while also supporting reactive maintenance, fault finding, and site improvement activities. You’ll work closely with the wider engineering team to minimise downtime, improve asset reliability, and support ongoing projects across the factory. This is a hands-on, technically varied role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Carry out PPM and reactive maintenance in line with legal and site compliance
- Support shift engineering teams with breakdowns and urgent repairs
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, automation, and instrumentation faults
- Maintain, repair, and upgrade electrical distribution systems and control panels
- Perform thermography on electrical distribution panels and motor control centres
- Carry out detailed fault finding down to component level to extend equipment life
- Maintain, install, and repair electrical cabinets, building circuits, and control systems
- Record all maintenance activity accurately on Agility (CMMS)
- Identify and implement continuous improvement and JDI opportunities
- Support site projects and supervise external contractors where required
About You
- Completed Engineering / Manufacturing Apprenticeship
- Strong experience in electrical maintenance within a manufacturing environment
- Proven ability in electrical fault finding and PPM execution
- Knowledge of PLC-controlled and automated systems
- Understanding of electrical, pneumatic, and electronic control systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment
Desirable:
- HNC in an Engineering discipline
- Experience with Injection Moulding and Extrusion equipment
- Experience working with cranes
