Location: Chippenham

At Wavin, part of Orbia’s Building & Infrastructure (B&I) business group, we’re passionate about creating sustainable, innovative solutions that help build healthier, more resilient environments for people and communities around the world.

We’re looking for an Engineering Stock Controller to take ownership of our Engineering Stores and play a critical role in supporting our Engineering and Operations teams in a fast-paced manufacturing facility.

About the Role

As Engineering Stock Controller, you’ll be responsible for managing, monitoring, and maintaining engineering stock across our main and satellite stores. Using SAP and other systems, you’ll ensure critical spares and consumables are always available — with zero tolerance for costly discrepancies. This is a hands-on role where accuracy, organisation, and proactive problem-solving really matter.

  • Accurately issue engineering parts, materials, and maintenance stock
  • Monitor stock levels and trigger re-orders to prevent stock-outs
  • Receive, inspect, and book in goods promptly (including damage checks)
  • Prepare parts and materials for engineers, customers, and couriers
  • Maintain clean, safe, and well-organised stores and storage areas
  • Carry out regular and annual stock checks in line with finance procedures
  • Use SAP to raise and manage stock and non-stock items
  • Support occasional deliveries and collections
About You
  • Experience in a similar stock control or stores role within engineering
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Confident using IT systems, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Office
  • SAP stock control experience (highly beneficial)
  • Logical problem-solver who stays calm under pressure
  • Clear and confident communicator, both written and verbal
  • GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent)
  • Forklift licence (desirable, not essential)
