We’re looking for a Marketing Communications Specialist who’s ready to make an impact — someone who thrives in a dynamic, purpose-driven environment and wants to help shape the future of procurement at Wavin.
About the Role
Reporting to the Marketing Director – BU Northern Europe, the Marketing Communications Specialist - Upstream will be responsible for developing, managing and implementing an integrated Upstream Marketing Communications plan in line with business objectives and strategic direction, delivering maximum brand recognition for Wavin and its brands.
The focus of specifications will be with defined product ranges across the entire product portfolio and the specific customer base such as Structural and Civil Engineers, Mechanical & Electrical Consultants, Architects, Investors, Developers, Public Health Consultants, Local Authorities, Industry & Government Bodies.
- Recommend, plan and deliver an integrated upstream marketing communications strategy that enhances and projects Wavin’s premium brand image and purpose creating a strong ‘pull’ orientated strategy.
- Develop, implement, measure and report on marketing activities, delivering measurable projects and campaigns on time, within budget and to a consistently high quality.
- Build and communicate different value-added propositions, focussing on Wavin’s competencies in all relevant markets and sectors.
- Create strategies to enhance the Wavin brand and reputation through PR and thought-leadership initiatives.
- Devise innovative strategies and campaigns to support the sales team delivering demonstrable differentiation versus our competitors and add value to the P&L.
- Determine relevant industry events and partners and work with the events and trade marketing coordinator to develop event plans and provide creative input on design.
- Drive partnerships with key organisational trade institutes such as Institute of Civil Engineers and CIWEM.
- Proactively develop reference cases, collateral, e-learning, CPD, and sales support materials in partnership with the Sales and Product Management teams.
- Work with the digital team to develop relevant content for social media, websites, landing pages and online campaigns.
- Activate group campaigns and contribute to campaign development where the UK and Ireland are determined as a lead country.
About You
- Knowledge of working within the construction or building product sector.
- Skilled in marketing to specifier audiences related to the constructor sector including engineers, tier one construction companies, architects, planners and developers.
- Experience of working closely with Sales teams to grow sales opportunities.
- Experience of working in large and complex matrix organisations.
- Proven success in launching new products and stimulating growth in products throughout their life cycle.
- Proven success in the development and management of strategic marketing campaigns.
- Self-starter, who takes full ownership of projects, and who is assertive and challenging of others to ensure targets and deadlines are met.
