FULL TIME CLASS TEACHER - Permanent Teacher MPS/UPS (Outer London) & SEN 1.

Pupils on roll: 162 FTE. Waverley School is a large, local authority-maintained special school in Enfield, North London. Waverley caters for pupils aged 3-19 with severe or profound and multiple learning difficulties, many with complex medical needs. We currently have 162 FTE pupils on roll across three sites. The largest site is Waverley School and the other two sites are Little Waverley@Bell Lane and Little Waverley.

We wish to recruit a full-time, permanent class teacher. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed teacher to develop their special educational expertise as we offer a comprehensive induction program and opportunities for further training, including provision for ECTs.

As a teacher at Waverley, you will be required to plan, prepare, and deliver exciting, differentiated, and creative lessons to spark curiosity and wonder within our wonderful students and motivate them to fully engage in and embrace learning. You must be dedicated to developing your knowledge, skills, and attitudes and be highly organised and reflective to adapt your teaching according to the needs of the students.

You must be an effective communicator to liaise with a range of professionals and lead a class team. You will play an integral role in developing the self-esteem, communication, confidence, and independence of every pupil you teach and you will work with the rest of the school community to cultivate young adults who are active members of society.

The successful candidate will join our thriving, and successful school which was designated Outstanding by Ofsted in July 2024.
