To achieve this, we need a team of dedicated and outstanding staff who will contribute to our exceptional learning community.

  • Role and Responsibilities
  • Work with colleagues to support the learning and teaching of children in Waverley Junior Academy.
  • Support access to learning for pupils by assisting the teacher, including the preparation of resources and implementing agreed work programmes both within and outside of the classroom.
  • Provide general support in the classroom across all key stages.
  • Promote and support pupil access to the curriculum.
  • Support children in their learning.
  • Work with pupils individually or in groups.
  • Model and promote positive values, attitudes and behaviour.
  • Complete observations of their key worker children.
  • Encourage pupils to interact and work co-operatively with others, and to engage in classroom activities.
  • Encourage pupils to act independently as appropriate.

The role is based at Waverley Junior Academy but may, on occasion, involve working at other academies within the trust.

Salary and Benefits

The salary will increase by an equivalent of 5 days of pay if the appointee has 5 years or more continuous service with the Local Authority.
