National Geographic thinks you should come to Dumfries and Galloway. So do we.
GP Opportunities | Glenluce Port William Whithorn Stranraer
National Geographic has named Dumfries and Galloway among its Best of the World destinations for 2027.
We could have told them that years ago.
Spectacular coastline, empty beaches, beautiful countryside, charming villages and some of Europe’s darkest skies. All without the traffic jams, impossible house prices or frantic pace of city life.
And, rather conveniently, we’re looking for GPs.
We’re recruiting across four surgeries:
Glenluce Surgery — recently ranked Scotland’s top GP practice in the Scottish Health and Care Experience Survey. Recognition from our patients that makes us particularly proud.
Southern Machars Practices — Port William and Whithorn — traditional rural general practice in beautiful, close-knit communities.
Waverley Medical Centre, Stranraer — varied, rewarding general practice with a friendly, supportive team.
We’re looking for doctors who value continuity, enjoy their work and believe general practice should be rewarding, sustainable and, whisper it quietly, actually enjoyable.
Experienced or newly qualified, we’d love to hear from you.
You don’t even need to own a pair of wellies.
National Geographic thinks it’s worth visiting. Our patients think we’re doing something right.
We think it’s worth staying for.
