We are looking for a reliable and calm Evening Security and Caretaker to support the safety, security and smooth running of our central offices, annexe building and Borough Hall during evening hours. This is an important role that helps ensure our buildings remain safe, well-presented and welcoming for staff, members and the public.
Responsibilities:
- Working largely independently during evening shifts, oversee building security, respond effectively to emergencies, and support evening meetings and events.
- Liaise with colleagues such as the evening receptionist and cleaning staff to ensure high standards are maintained.
Qualities and Requirements:
- Ability to work confidently both alone and as part of a team, following verbal and written instructions and using initiative when required.
- Calm and effective response in emergencies, including security incidents, fire or lift evacuations.
- Commitment to maintaining safe, well-presented buildings, with a strong focus on customer care and professionalism.
This is a part-time role working Monday and Friday from 5pm to 9pm. Experience in a similar caretaking or security role, and confidence in lone working, will be an advantage. Training will be provided where required.
