An opportunity has arisen within The Housing Services Team for a Fire Safety Manager on an 18-month Fixed Term Contract.

Operational Duties & Accountabilities

  • You will support the Regulatory Compliance Manager in the success of Fire Compliance creating excellent partnerships, lead the fire compliance strategy and provide professional technical support expertise in fire safety.
  • We need an enthusiastic, driven individual to manage the Fire Compliance in line with current regulations and council policy, delivering responsive, cyclical, and planned maintenance.
  • Ensure that all homes and common areas meet required regulatory standards and internal policies adhered to, ensuring the safety of our tenants and members of the public, through the planning control and delivery of periodic testing, servicing, maintenance, and upgrade programmes of work.
  • You will be responsible for all aspects of contract management and administration including day to day oversight of work in progress, managing the relevant compliance contracts appropriately, meeting regularly with contractors to ensure they complete works to a high quality and deliver a cost-effective service, on time, including full budgetary oversight.
  • Line Manage the Compliance Officer (Fire) to oversee contract administration or work orders for cyclical inspections and remedial or upgrade works. Supporting them to lead on the FRA’s, Fire Door Inspections and communal fire safety works, and complete actions as required.
  • Identify and document both current and potential strategic and operational fire risks, review fire strategies, policies and processes to reduce, or eliminate risks and contribute to the service development plan providing innovative solutions to continually improve our services.
  • Plan and manage project works that arise from Fire Risk Assessments including fire door replacements programmes and compartmental projects both in Senior Living Scheme, communal areas and general housing stock.

This role is a Fixed Term contract for 18 months.
