About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated, proactive, and skilled Buildings Officer to join our friendly and hardworking team. Your work will play a vital role in ensuring our school is clean, safe, secure, and ready to welcome children each day. This is a rewarding role where you’ll directly influence the environment our pupils and staff experience, helping to create a space where everyone feels safe, valued, and able to do their best work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the day‑to‑day running, safety, and presentation of the school site.
  • Maintain a warm, clean, and secure environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.
  • Work closely with the Principal, Operations Manager and Senior Leadership Team to support school operations.
  • Carry out general maintenance, minor repairs, and premises checks.
  • Oversee contractors and ensure health & safety compliance across the site, using online compliance systems.
  • Open and close the school building, ensuring proper security at all times.
  • Take responsibility for site cleanliness, maintenance records, and planned works.
  • Support the smooth delivery of school events and wider school life.

About You

  • Has relevant premises, trade, or site management experience.
  • Is organised, reliable, and able to use their initiative confidently.
  • Strong IT competency, with the ability to confidently use digital systems for data management, communication, and reporting.
  • Works well as part of a team and takes pride in high standards.
  • Understands the importance of a safe, well‑maintained environment for children.
  • Is proactive, positive, and solution‑focused in their approach.
  • Wants to make a meaningful difference to the lives of children and families.
