The main objective of this role is to ensure that the Business Recovery Centre is presentable and operationally fit for purpose at all times. We are currently looking to add to our teams in both Manchester and Farnborough. You would not need to travel between these locations. The successful candidate will also be responsible for the delivery of Wavenet Services from the Centre including Customer Invocations and Rehearsals. It should be noted that BC Services are provided 24x7 and participation in a paid for Out of Hours call-out Rota is a requirement of this role supporting regional recovery centres and customers. This role is part of the Collective Bargaining Unit. If you want to further your career from a vibrant and fast-paced organisation, this might be the role for you.
Responsibilities (but not limited to):
- Technical Support to customers during rehearsals and invocations
- Attend Pre-Test meetings and issue appropriate documentation
- Complete Pre & Post Test documentation.
- Ensure any issues are followed up to the point of resolution
- Relocatable Invocation response to customer sites when required in the Service Area
- Risk Management of contracted obligations versus site capability
- Manage implementation of services for new customers, including installation co-ordination of hosted IT and communications
- Provide a fail-over (multiple invocation) resource to other Recovery Centres in the Service Zone
- Ensure the functionality of all site facilities including air-conditioning, lighting, UPS and the generator
- Provide out-of-hours and on-call support for site facilities maintenance
- Provide support for client invocation call out as part of the 24 hour on-call standby rota
- Maintain Technical Site Guide and Site User Guide documentation
- General upkeep and maintenance of all building infrastructure and facilities including Health & Safety requirements
- Perform any other duties as required to support inventory to maintain service availability
- Be vigilant for possible fraudulent activity and if necessary raise a security incident report using the template accessible via the corporate Intranet.
- Periodically review Wavenet Security Policies – centrally hosted on the Intranet - to ensure full compliance with current legal, regulatory and company requirements.
- If you are a Manager of staff, you must ensure: your team are aware of their security responsibilities & know how to access Wavenet Security Policies hosted on the Intranet; the principles listed with the Wavenet Security Policy Statement document are embedded within the operations of your team.
- Carry out any ‘ad hoc’ assignments as and when required.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have:
- Intel/Windows desktop support including use of Symantec Ghost
- Some knowledge of Networks, Switches & Routers
- Some knowledge of Windows Server operating systems
- Exposure to voice and data communications
- Proven fault finding and diagnostic skills
- Professional and flexible approach to work
- Smart and presentable, flexible with a strong and demonstrable work ethic
- Ability to participate in out of hours call out rota
- Ability to work under own initiative
- Good communication skills
- Excellent customer care skills
- Good commercial and business attitude
