Job Description
- Lead Wavenet's EcoVadis assessment programme and drive progression toward Gold-level accreditation.
- Manage the development, verification, and communication of Wavenet's Carbon Reduction Plan, ensuring alignment with government procurement expectations.
- Lead the collection, analysis, and interpretation of ESG and environmental performance data, using appropriate tools and AI-enabled support where relevant, to inform regulatory reporting, customer requirements, strategic decision-making, and targeted emissions reduction initiatives.
- Embed sustainability into supplier governance processes, with particular focus on Scope 3 emissions and responsible sourcing.
- Act as the organisation's subject matter expert for sustainability across bids, customer engagements, and internal strategy discussions.
- Lead employee engagement initiatives (e.g. Environmental Awareness Month) and sustainability communications to drive behavioural change.
- Represent sustainability at a strategic level, presenting to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Drive ESG governance and performance improvement initiatives, and influence organisational decision-making through sustainability insights.
- Lead the organisation's compliance with energy and carbon reporting regulations, including the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) and Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR).
- Support compliance with evolving regulatory requirements, including UK Sustainability Reporting Standards (UK SRS).
- Support revenue growth by positioning sustainability as a competitive differentiator in bids and customer relationships.
Qualifications
- ISEP-certified Carbon Footprinting and Reporting qualification, or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of ESG governance and reporting frameworks, including the EcoVadis assessment methodology.
- Experience managing supplier sustainability requirements and Scope 3 emissions data.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with experience presenting to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Understanding of carbon accounting and climate transition planning.
- Familiarity with supply chain sustainability and due diligence practices.
- Familiarity with environmental standards such as ISO 14001 and ISO 50001.
- Professional membership with IEMA, or actively working towards it.
- ISEP Practitioner Certificate or equivalent recognised sustainability qualification.
- Continued learning through the UN Global Compact Academy or similar programmes.
- Experience of strategic ESG programme development and governance leadership
