About Wavemaker
Wavemaker exists to reduce the digital divide and drive positive change through education, skills, and inclusion. We work with communities, public services, and partners to help people build real digital confidence for life, work, and wellbeing.
The Role
We’re looking for a driven Digital Content Creator who wants to use their skills for something that actually matters. This role is about helping us tell our story, explain our impact, and make digital education accessible, engaging, and human. You’ll be creating content that supports learners, communities, partners, and funders, not chasing vanity metrics for the sake of it. This is a volunteer role, but not a casual one. We’re looking for people who care, who show up, and who want to help build something meaningful.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Creating digital content for social media, web, and campaigns
- Producing short‑form video, graphics, carousels, or written content
- Helping shape messaging around digital inclusion, skills, and education
- Supporting campaigns, programmes, and impact storytelling
- Bringing ideas, not just following briefs
We’re flexible on the format. We care more about quality, clarity, and intent than ticking boxes.
Who We’re Looking For
You don’t need a perfect CV. You do need the right mindset. You’re likely to be someone who:
- Is creative, proactive, and reliable
- Cares about education, digital inclusion, or social impact
- Understands how content can inform, empower, and inspire
- Can manage your time and communicate clearly
- Wants to contribute to something bigger than themselves
Students, career changers, freelancers, and early‑career creatives are all welcome.
About Pay and Progression
We want to be upfront. We do not currently have paid roles available. This is not because we don’t value people’s work. It’s because we’re building, scaling, and doing so responsibly. We fully understand that your time is the most precious thing you have. We will never pretend otherwise. What we can offer is:
- Meaningful, real‑world experience
- Ownership and creative input
- Clear recognition of your contribution
- Flexible working that fits around your life
- A genuine opportunity to grow with us
If Wavemaker continues to grow and you’re already adding value with your foot firmly in the door, there is a very real possibility this could turn into a paid, permanent role in the future. No false promises. Just honesty.
Why Volunteer With Us
Because you want your work to mean something. Because you want to help shape the future of education and digital skills. Because you want to be part of a team that values people, not just output.
How to Apply
Send us:
- A short intro about you
- Examples of content you’ve created (any format, any platform)
- A sentence or two on why this role matters to you
We care more about motivation and potential than polished buzzwords.
