We are looking for a hands-on accountant with a mix of audit, accounts, and tax experience to join a well-established independent firm in Northamptonshire.

Succession Planning Opportunity

This is more than a box-ticking role. It is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, wants to be genuinely valued, and is ready to take on responsibility across a broad client base. Audit work makes up only about two months of the year (spread out). The majority of your time will be spent on accounts preparation, tax compliance, and directly supporting clients, alongside mentoring junior staff and reviewing their work.

There is a longer-term opportunity: the firm plans for succession over the next few years. If you aim to grow into a senior leadership role (or beyond), this position offers a clear pathway.

Ideal Profile

  • ACA/ACCA qualified (or finalist/QBE)
  • Solid UK practice background
  • Able to manage your own portfolio and review junior work
  • Happy to roll up your sleeves in a small, collaborative team

Salary £45–50 k per annum, depending on experience, with flexibility for the right candidate.
