We are working with an established independent firm of accountants with an opportunity for an experienced Audit Senior to join their team. This is a fantastic role for an ambitious auditor to take ownership of client work, gain valuable exposure, and progress within a supportive practice environment.
Responsibilities
- Planning, leading, and completing audit assignments for a variety of clients.
- Supervising and mentoring junior staff during audits (typically 1–2 team members).
- Reviewing audit work to ensure quality and compliance with professional standards.
- Liaising directly with clients, building strong relationships, and providing clear communication throughout the process.
- Preparing accounts and tax computations where required, providing a broader exposure beyond audit.
- Staying up to date with audit and accounting standards.
Ideal Candidate
- ACA/ACCA qualified or finalist (or equivalent).
- Recent audit experience in a UK accountancy practice.
- Confident in leading audits from planning through to completion.
- Strong technical knowledge and understanding of current audit and accounting standards.
- Ability to supervise, review and support junior staff.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Comfortable working within a small, collaborative team in a traditional practice setting.
