We take a hands-on role in outcomes, building systems and operating standards designed for reliability, quality and repeatability at scale.
The role
This is a hands-on technical role at the centre of Wavecast delivery. You will be responsible for broadcast engineering, real-time media operations, and the continuous improvement of live content workflows across studio, on-site, and hybrid environments.
You will lead technical delivery with a strong sense of ownership, protecting live performance through robust system design, disciplined execution, and resilient architecture. The role spans on-prem production infrastructure and cloud-based media operations, including streaming, localisation, and fast-turnaround replay workflows. You will own projects end-to-end, support high-throughput programmes, and help evolve how we deliver as our cloud media operations continue to scale.
What you will do
- Lead technical delivery across studio, on-site, and hybrid productions globally
- Own live signal integrity, latency, redundancy, and operational stability during transmission
- Design, document, and improve resilient systems, signal paths, and delivery workflows
- Build and operate workflows connecting the Clocktower facility with cloud media services
- Develop tooling and automation in Python and VB.Net to improve repeatability and reliability
- Work closely with internal teams and external partners to shape operational improvements and platform priorities
Operational capability
Alongside system design and engineering ownership, you will be comfortable operating live productions when required, including:
- Vision mixing and technical direction, including calling cameras and managing live picture flow
- Camera operation, including remote and robotic PTZ systems
- Camera shading
- Presenter and contributor onboarding, including technical checks, confidence building, and live readiness
These capabilities are essential to maintaining delivery credibility and protecting live outcomes.
Technology environment
vMix, SDI, NDI, SRT, Dante audio networking, IP networking, AWS-based media workflows. Experience with ST 2110 concepts is advantageous but not essential.
What we are looking for
- Five or more yearsβ experience in live events, broadcast engineering, or real-time media operations
- Strong understanding of broadcast and IP-based signal flows
- Calm, structured troubleshooting under live conditions
- Comfortable owning delivery end-to-end while working within a multidisciplinary team
