WAVE Trauma Centre are recruiting for 2 x Advocacy Support Workers based in any of our WAVE centres.

The Advocacy Support Worker offers support, advocacy and advice in relation to Truth, Justice and Acknowledgment to families bereaved as a result of the Conflict/Troubles. The post holder will be required to support, advocate on behalf of, and advise families who wish to engage with statutory and other bodies in respect of their bereavement/ injury if required; assisting families by collating the data that is available on their case and completing a family report that documents their case fully.This work will be underpinned by WAVE’s protocols, policies and procedures.

This project is supported by the PEACEPLUS Programme, managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB).

Salary: £35,235 per annum (pro rata for part time)

Location: Can be based in any of our WAVE centres (Armagh, Ballymoney, Belfast, Derry Londonderry, Killough or Omagh)

Applicants who are successful at shortlisting will undertake an assessment using real life citizen educators and hear a real life story.

WAVE is committed to the support, training and development of its staff. The organisation offers an attractive remuneration and benefits package for the post holder to include: 25 days annual leave (increasing with service) and 11 statutory days. A training and development programme and employee support package are also in place, with the organisation giving an 8% pension contribution, with no employee contribution required.
