About the Organisation

The organisation is undergoing a major transformation of its business systems landscape. Legacy platforms, disconnected phone systems, and manual cross-system data entry currently create operational inefficiencies across 650+ locations and 3,000 users. A new Enterprise Architecture capability is being established to modernise the ecosystem, reduce technical debt, and accelerate time-to-market for new products and services.

Role Purpose

The Business Analyst will play a central role in designing and guiding the evolution of the organisation’s technology estate toward a composable, integrated architecture. The role focuses on understanding the current state, identifying improvement pathways, and defining future-state architecture that enables seamless system interoperability.

This role is suited to a technically minded, T-shaped professional with strong architecture, system design and integration experience — not a traditional Business Analyst role.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse end-to-end business systems, data flows and operational processes
• Map and document current-state architectures, integrations and dependencies
• Design future-state architectures focused on interoperability and system simplification
• Develop solution options and roadmaps aligned to enterprise architectural principles
• Recommend pragmatic workarounds that minimise system redevelopment
• Lead discussions on integration patterns, APIs, middleware and SaaS solutions
• Work closely with engineering, business systems, data and operations teams to align delivery
• Support prioritisation of change based on business value and system impact
• Ensure architectural decisions reduce duplication, manual processes and technical debt
• Maintain architectural artefacts, diagrams, registers and standards

Experience & Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst, Solution Architect, Technical Product Owner or Agile Delivery Lead
• Strong background in cloud-based solutions and SaaS platform integration
• Demonstrated ability to analyse complex system landscapes with multiple vendors and platforms
• Ability to produce high-quality architectural documentation and roadmaps
• Experience working in multi-team, multi-system enterprise technology environments

Preferred

• Experience in highly operational industries (e.g., multi-site / multi-service environments)
• Familiarity with Azure cloud and migration from VM-based systems to native services
• Knowledge of data flows and integration patterns across customer, operational and finance systems
• Systems thinking and problem solving
• Stakeholder engagement and communication across technical and business groups
• Ability to challenge assumptions constructively
• Delivery-oriented and pragmatic mindset
• Ability to translate business challenges into architectural solutions
