We are working with a leading global technology and consulting organisation that is looking to appoint a
Utility SME / Regional Manager to lead major utilities programmes across the UK.
This is a senior leadership role responsible for overall business performance, account growth, delivery oversight, customer relationship management and operational excellence across large-scale utilities programmes.
The successful candidate will bring deep Utilities domain expertise, strong regional leadership experience and a proven background across utility grid software and digital transformation environments.
This includes areas such as
Power Generation, Transmission, Distribution, Renewables, Grid Modernisation, ADMS, EMS, SCADA and Digital Utility Transformation .
This role would suit an experienced Utilities leader, Regional Manager, Programme Director, Delivery Director or Utilities SME who has managed multi-million-pound or multi-million-dollar portfolios, led cross-functional teams and worked closely with senior customers and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of business performance, account growth, delivery oversight and customer relationships across assigned utilities programmes.
- Lead large utility industry programmes across the assigned region.
- Manage multi-million-pound or multi-million-dollar portfolios across Utilities, Grid Software or Digital Utility Transformation.
- Drive operational excellence, resource management and customer experience.
- Develop and implement regional business plans and strategic plans aligned to wider organisational objectives.
- Build and maintain relationships with customers, partners, regional leaders and internal teams.
- Lead and manage cross-functional teams across services, support and engineering.
- Provide guidance, coaching and development support to team members.
- Act as a key liaison between regional teams, global utilities leadership and external stakeholders.
- Ensure effective communication, issue resolution and governance across programmes.
- Support account growth and customer success within the Utilities sector.
- Adhere to quality processes and support customer requirements, including occasional after-hours calls where required.
- Travel to customer sites as needed.
Skills & Experience Required
- Significant experience within the Utilities sector, ideally across grid software, digital utility transformation or large-scale utility programmes.
- Strong knowledge of utility grid software such as
EMS, ADMS, DERMS and Grid Automation .
- Experience across Power Generation, Transmission, Distribution, Renewables, Grid Modernisation, SCADA or related Utilities domains.
- Proven experience managing large programmes, portfolios or regional business operations.
- Experience managing P&L, account growth, delivery oversight or customer success.
- Strong leadership experience across cross-functional teams, including services, support and engineering.
- Ability to develop and execute regional strategies and business plans.
- Strong customer relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership and strategic planning capability.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage complex customer requirements.
- Knowledge of IT solutions for the Utilities industry would be advantageous.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites where required.
