About the Role

As Legal Counsel (Employment Law), you will join a dedicated team of legal professionals supporting a wide range of employment law matters. This is a high‑profile role offering exposure to strategic projects such as TUPE transfers, complex outsourcing deals, acquisitions, restructuring, and high‑stakes employment disputes. You’ll work closely with HR and business leaders to provide commercially focused legal advice that enables the business to navigate risk and maintain compliance across its UK operations.

You will also contribute to the continuous improvement of HR policies, lead legal training sessions, and support the business in managing employee relations, industrial disputes, and tribunal litigation. This is an ideal opportunity for a seasoned employment law expert looking to make an impact in a collaborative and ambitious global environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise on UK employment law across day‑to‑day issues and strategic business initiatives.
  • Lead legal input on transactions including TUPE, outsourcing, acquisitions, and restructuring.
  • Draft and negotiate employment‑related provisions in contracts and project documentation.
  • Support management of employee disputes, tribunal processes, and litigation.
  • Provide counsel on trade union negotiations and collective consultation matters.
  • Update and implement HR policies and legal frameworks in response to changes in legislation.
  • Deliver internal training to HR teams and business leaders on employment law topics.
  • Collaborate closely with internal legal teams, HR, and external counsel as needed.

Key Skills and Experience

  • Strong post‑qualification experience in UK employment law (contentious and non‑contentious).
  • Proven experience advising on TUPE, outsourcing, acquisitions, and restructuring.
  • Practical experience managing tribunal cases and employment disputes.
  • Deep understanding of trade union and collective consultation frameworks.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and legal drafting skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a legal team.
  • Experience advising on employment law in Ireland or wider EMEA jurisdictions.
  • Exposure to pensions law within transactional settings.
  • Interest in offshoring and international labour law considerations.
