A leading compound semiconductor manufacturer is looking for a technical manager to help scale its operations. This role sits in a key area of the business where you'll influence and improve new process technology development and yields. You'll be working on UK-first, high-performance III–V compound semiconductor technologies for RF/microwave applications, in a company genuinely pushing innovation forward in the UK.
The role
- Develop and integrate new process technologies to support the technology roadmap
- Lead a team focused on process integration, yield improvement and production readiness
- Manage gate-stage reviews and provide feedback on engineering trials and production data
- Track and report line/die yield; build Pareto analyses and drive targeted yield improvements
- Work with Process, Device, Quality and Production teams to contain and resolve excursions
- Maintain department KPIs, budgets, cost control and lean practices
- Oversee environmental compliance: waste streams, pollution control, audits, ISO14001/OHSAS45001
- Support EH&S, COSHH, incident investigation and regulatory interactions
Key knowledge and experience
- Semiconductor manufacturing experience across multiple process areas
- 2+ years of management experience
- Strong background in yield engineering, process integration and SPC/DOE/FMEA
- Experience in high-reliability, quality-driven environments
- Ability to lead change control and cross-functional improvement
- Understanding of II–V / II–VI or III–V technologies is an advantage
