We are looking to appoint an outstanding and committed Teacher of Maths. The successful applicant will embody our Trust values, bring diverse experience, and possess a passion for working with young people with additional needs.
Responsibilities- Deliver high quality mathematics teaching to pupils aged 7–16.
- Plan, assess and present lessons that meet the National Curriculum and individual Education, Health and Care Plans.
- Work with pupils who have Autism Spectrum or Speech, Language and Communication Needs, providing personalised support.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues, parents/carers and external agencies to support pupils’ academic and social development.
- Maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and contribute to school improvement initiatives.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching mathematics in a special or mainstream school setting.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills, with boundless patience and resilience.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and Safer Recruitment procedures; a satisfactory enhanced DBS check (online check may be carried out).
Glendinning Academy is a 120‑place special school for children aged 7 to 16 with social interaction and communication needs, including those on the Autism Spectrum. The academy opened in 2019 and offers a personalised supportive environment with outdoor learning opportunities that support the National Curriculum, communication, interaction, social and emotional skills, and pathways to independence.
