This company is a leading logistics scale-up in Europe, growing at an impressive pace. Every parcel that moves through their network generates thousands of data points that feed the forecasting engine powering operational decisions such as shifts, dispatch, routing, and expansion.

The Senior Data Scientist in this role owns a core domain within that engine, sitting in the company's largest and most data-rich squad. If you want to be at the heart of something genuinely transformative, this might be for you.

What you'll be doing:

  • Owning a core domain in the forecasting engine (demand, expansion, parcel intelligence or sortation).
  • Building and maintaining models from exploration through to production deployment.
  • Monitoring live model performance and improving accuracy over time.
  • Translating problems from Sortation, Middle Mile, Last Mile, Routing and Commercial into data science problems.
  • Quantifying model impact on cost per parcel to help prioritise the roadmap.

Must have requirements:

  • 5+ years in data science or quantitative modelling, ideally with time-series forecasting.
  • Strong Python & SQL skills across the full modelling lifecycle (extraction to production).
  • Track record of taking models from notebook to production, monitored and trusted.
  • Experience communicating model reliability to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working from ambiguous starting points.
  • Logistics or delivery network experience.
  • Machine Learning experience where it materially improves forecast accuracy.
  • Comfortable using AI tools (LLMs, code assistants) to accelerate workflow.
  • Experience influencing technical direction as a team scales.
