Our client is one of the UK's leading providers in their sector, a large, nationally recognised organisation with hundreds of locations across the country, handling hundreds of thousands of cases annually. The business is actively expanding its service portfolio beyond its core offering into adjacent professional services. They're in the middle of one of the most significant transformations in their history: moving from decades of paper-based operations to a fully digital, real-time platform. This role sits at the heart of that change.
The team has built and launched the first module of a new internal operations platform, replacing 20-year-old legacy infrastructure. The next phase, the focus of this hire, transforms how frontline staff handle customer-facing service arrangements, moving from paper forms and manual coordination to tablet-based input, real-time scheduling, digital signatures and automated workflows integrated across logistics, operations and finance. This is one of the three most important company initiatives this year. You'll report to the CTO and work in close partnership with the CEO, with high visibility across senior leadership from day one.
What you'll be doing:
- Owning the product roadmap for the next platform module, driving delivery toward a major rollout later this year
- Translating complex operational workflows into clear, prioritised product plans
- Working directly with frontline staff and operational teams to understand real pain points and design solutions that work in practice
- Leading a cross-functional team including a BA, UK-based engineers and an offshore team of five
- Partnering with the CTO, CEO and operational leaders to align on priorities and communicate progress
- Introducing and embedding AI tools where they create genuine value, data insights, automation, operational efficiency
- Managing third-party vendors and agencies where relevant
What you'll bring:
- 5+ years in product management, ideally with internal systems at scale (2,500+ users, hundreds of locations, 100,000+ cases per year)
- Experience in digital transformation, moving teams and processes from legacy or manual ways of working to modern digital tools
- Comfort in fast-paced, high-stakes environments with real delivery pressure
- Strong stakeholder management, you'll need to hold your own in conversations with a driven, detail-oriented senior leadership team
- Experience leading onshore and offshore/nearshore teams
- Practical experience with AI tools applied to real business problems
- Background in B2C products, point-of-sale, logistics or operational systems is a genuine advantage
What makes this role worth doing:
The work matters. Every improvement you ship directly affects the quality of service delivered to customers at some of the most important moments of their lives. You'll have real ownership, senior visibility, and the chance to leave a lasting mark on a business that touches hundreds of thousands of people every year.
The process:
- Initial conversation with the hiring team
- Senior leadership interview including a short roadmap/prioritisation exercise
Location: Hybrid - minimum three days per week in Maidenhead, with travel to a Midlands head office and various UK operational sites for immersion.
