Wattbike is a Nottingham-based sports technology business used by gyms, schools, universities, elite athletes, professional sports teams and serious home users around the world. We work with around 3,000 of the UK’s estimated 10,000 commercial gyms and fitness facilities. We want to grow further across gyms, education and elite sport.

We are looking for an analytical university graduate or undergraduate to join our UK Commercial Team for a paid summer internship between July and September 2026. An interest in fitness, sport, cycling or performance would be a strong advantage.

The intern will complete a specific commercial data project. The first task is to bring together, clean and update customer and prospect data held across Salesforce, customer service records, CRM and email databases. The intern will then expand our UK prospect database, focusing mainly on:

  • Commercial gyms and health clubs
  • Schools and universities
  • Elite and professional sports teams
  • Leading sports clubs and performance centres

The key output is to identify the correct decision-maker within each prospect account and obtain an accurate business email address. These contacts will be used by Wattbike for targeted new-business outreach and customer acquisition.

The intern will:

  • Combine data from Wattbike’s existing systems and records.
  • Remove duplicates and correct incomplete or outdated information.
  • Research and add new prospect accounts.
  • Identify the person responsible for purchasing fitness equipment or performance technology.
  • Capture their name, job title and business email address.
  • Check the accuracy of contact information.
  • Prepare the final database for use by our Commercial and CRM teams.

Research methods will include:

  • Excel
  • AI research tools
  • Company websites
  • LinkedIn
  • Online directories
  • Direct telephone or email contact where needed

The final deliverable will be a clean, structured prospect database containing relevant decision-makers and accurate business email addresses. A list of organisations without named contacts and email addresses will not be considered a complete output.

What You’ll Gain:

  • Hands-on experience in commercial sales, CRM and data strategy within a leading sports technology business.
  • Exposure to tools including Salesforce, CRM platforms and AI-powered research workflows.
  • Experience working with real commercial data and prospecting strategy.
  • The opportunity to contribute directly to business growth by supporting Wattbike’s commercial expansion across gyms, education and elite sport.

The intern will work within Wattbike’s UK Commercial Team. Day-to-day support will be provided by our B2B Marketing Executive and Senior CRM and Email Executive. The project will be directed by our Head of Commercial Sales.

Working arrangements:

  • Period: July to September 2026
  • Duration: Minimum four weeks, with the potential to extend to eight weeks
  • Hours: Full-time, five days per week (37.5 hours)
  • Location: Wattbike, Nottingham
  • Office attendance: Minimum three days per week

Exact start and finish dates will be agreed with the successful candidate.

How to Apply:

Please submit your CV along with a short cover note outlining your interest in the role and why you would be a strong fit. Application deadline: 17th July 2026. Successful candidates will be invited to an initial interview with the Wattbike Commercial Team.

Ideal candidate profile:

  • Has completed, or is about to complete, a university degree.
  • Is analytical, organised and highly accurate.
  • Has good Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Is confident researching and checking information.
  • Is comfortable using AI tools alongside traditional online research.
  • Is persistent in finding the correct contact details.
  • Is comfortable calling or emailing organisations where required.
  • Has an interest in the fitness, sport or performance sector.

The role may suit individuals from business, marketing, sport management, data analytics, sport science, economics or related courses.

Benefits:

On site training zone and cycling/running groups. Remuneration: £12.71 per hour.
