Watson Ramsbottom Solicitors are looking to recruit a hardworking and enthusiastic Commercial Property Solicitor within our property department. You will possess sound technical skills and working experience in business or individual capacity; you will be able to prioritise your workload in order to meet deadlines; proficient in Microsoft Office and case management software, you should be self-motivated, energetic and business minded, you will have excellent communication and client care skills; you will be pro-active, personable and have exceptional attention to detail.
The main duties of the role will be as follows:
- The sale, purchase and lease of land or property.
- Development, infrastructure and planning projects.
- Property finance and investment.
- Leasehold management.
- Landlord and tenant disputes.
- The drafting, reviewing and negotiation of contracts.
- Mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and disposals.
We are looking for a highly motivated, positive, Corporate/Commercial Legal Executive/Solicitor to be great at assisting and advising clients on corporate transactional matters, including business sales (share and asset), acquisitions and restructures company matters, including shareholders agreements, company secretarial matters and EMIs.
Duties Include:
- Giving estimates of costs to new clients and being responsible for managing costs throughout all matters.
- To liaise with clients, commercial agents, business sale brokers, other professionals and opposing solicitors by telephone, post, e-mail or in person, as necessary, at every stage of the transaction.
- To be responsible for all file opening and AML procedures and to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements in relation to the same.
- To manage a range of corporate and commercial matters from initial instruction through to matter conclusion.
- To ensure the confidentiality of all the firm’s and clients’ documentation.
- To achieve agreed levels of time-recording (as appropriate).
- To undertake any other tasks as may be required from time to time.
Experience & Background:
Ideally we are looking for a qualified Solicitor with minimum 2 years’ experience in corporate and commercial work but applications will be considered from those with alternative relevant qualifications or who can demonstrate equivalent skills and experience. We’re looking for somebody with excellent knowledge of legal experience which has mostly been gained on non-contentious business transactions and issues business drivers affecting, and legal, regulatory and business risks of owner managed businesses, corporate transactional work, and general commercial law.
You should also have:
- An ability to work flexibly and collaboratively as part of a small, supportive team while taking responsibility for their own work.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Pleasant and positive manner in dealing with colleagues and clients.
- An ability to provide clear and pragmatic advice to, and deal confidently with, individuals at all levels.
- Ability to evaluate a situation in the face of time constraints and react appropriately.
- Good time management, file organisation and personal organisation.
- Ability to work effectively and flexibly in a team.
