Overview
The Reward Manager supports the Head of Reward in delivering the global reward strategy for Watson-Marlow. This role is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Reward function, ensuring the effective delivery of annual reward cycles, benefits programmes, and key reward projects. Acting as a Centre of Excellence, the Reward Manager partners closely with HR colleagues and external providers to ensure consistency, equity, and operational excellence across the organisation.
This is a hands-on role with a strong emphasis on data analysis, process optimisation, and stakeholder engagement. It offers the opportunity to shape and enhance reward practices across the organisation, acting as a key contributor to global initiatives. With support and guidance from the Head of Reward, the role also provides a clear development path into broader areas of global reward.
Key accountabilities
- Lead the operational delivery of annual reward cycles including performance-related pay reviews, management bonus and validate LTIP vesting and grants in collaboration with Group Reward.
- Administer and continuously improve the UK Flexible Benefits programme in collaboration with external providers and UK Reward teams.
- Embed and maintain the application of the grading framework for consistency and accuracy and work with Group and other BU Reward teams to ensure the grading framework is aligned for the overall business.
- Manage the administration and data gathering for key processes such as Gender Pay Gap, Ethnicity Pay Gap, Living Wage checks, bonus calculations, and employee share schemes.
- Act as the first point of contact for reward-related queries from HR colleagues and employees.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on compensation and benefits matters, ensuring alignment with policy and best practice.
- Partner with HR Business Partners and Talent teams to embed reward processes and support performance and development frameworks.
- Analyse reward data to identify trends and provide actionable insights to the Head of Reward.
- Conduct external market research using salary surveys and benchmarking tools to inform reward decisions.
- Utilise HR systems to build insight into people analytics on measures such as absence, attrition, quality of hire, etc. to aid commercial decision making and inform business processes.
- Maintain reward data, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
- Support the delivery of reward-related projects that align with the HR and business strategy, such as global grading, benefits harmonisation, or compensation philosophy development.
- Collaborate with Spirax Group Reward and other business units to ensure alignment and consistency.
Skills/Experience
- Experience working within a global and/or matrixed organisation.
- Familiarity with job evaluation methodologies and global grading frameworks.
- Proven experience managing and maintaining employee data with a high degree of accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret complex data sets and translate insights into clear, actionable recommendations for stakeholders.
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively across global teams and time zones.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with confidence engaging and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
