Job Title: Extrusion Operative (6-months fixed term contract)
Location: Watson Marlow – Bickland Water Road (On-Site)

We are seeking a talented and motivated Extrusion Operative (6-months fixed term contract) to join our dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely as part of the tubing manufacturing team to produce high quality transfer and fluid handling tube products.
- Collaborate with extrusion line setters to enable production of various sizes, lengths, and specifications of tube products for critical industries including biopharma, medical, water, food, and special processing.
- Adhere to strict hygiene procedures and use required PPE to minimize the risk of product contamination.
- Assist in the transfer of raw materials and consumables into cleanrooms as defined in SOPs.
- Utilise all tooling and aids provided to maximise efficiency and ensure quality.
- Maintain rotation of raw material stocks in accordance with procedures; replenish cleanroom stock as necessary; follow material transfer procedures at all times.
- Count out work for transfer from the cleanroom and ensure batch records are correct.
- Maintain quality records of all production to ensure product and process traceability.
- Collaborate with the Tubing Production Planner to ensure output meets customer requirements for on-time delivery.
- Prioritise workload to meet customer delivery dates.
- Assist with additional tasks related to Tubing Extrusion Production and process improvement as needed.
- Carry out other duties associated with cleanroom production, including extrusion.
- Provide support for various production activities including end-of-line processes.
- Support Continuous Improvement initiatives throughout the tubing value stream, working with Team Leaders to develop and implement new ideas.
- Assist with process validation of new equipment.
- Support and drive 5S activities across the Tubing value stream to maintain an efficient and safe workspace.
- Support process improvement investigations including Root Cause analysis and Corrective Actions.
Who You’ll Be Working With
You will be working within a team of extrusion operators and a team leader to produce silicone tubing. Operators receive high-level training to handle tasks within the cleanroom, from protective gear to operating cleanroom equipment.
Skills & Experience
- Resilient with the ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
- Experience in a culture of continuous improvement for production processes and Health & Safety.
- Previous experience in a Cleanroom is preferable but not essential.
- Knowledge of cGMP and Lean manufacturing principles.
- Teamwork: ability to work effectively within a team.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment within a Class 7 clean room.
- Medical device manufacturing background is an advantage.
- Experience with 5S processes and a keen eye for detail; willingness to utilise all resources to drive process improvement.
