Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and motivated Extrusion Operative to join our dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities

Working closely as part of the tubing manufacturing team to produce high quality transfer and fluid handling tube products. Working alongside the extrusion line setters to enable the production of various sizes, lengths and specification of tube product supporting critical industries including biopharma, Medical, Water, food, and special processing industries.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • To adhere to the strict hygiene procedures and use all the required PPE as per procedure to minimise the risk of product contamination.
  • To assist in the transfer of raw materials and consumables into the cleanrooms as defined in SOP’s
  • To use all tooling and aids provided to maximize efficiency and to ensure consistency in quality level
  • Maintain the rotation of raw material stocks in accordance with laid down procedures, replenishing the clean room stock as necessary, following the material transfer procedures at all times.
  • To count out work for transfer from the cleanroom and ensure batch records are correct.
  • Maintain quality records of all production to ensure product and process traceability.
  • To work closely with the Tubing Production Planner to ensure manufactured output matches the customer requirements for on time delivery
  • To prioritise workload to ensure that products are available to meet customer Delivery Dates.
  • Additional tasks associated with Tubing Extrusion Production and process improvement may be expected.
  • Carry out other duties associated with cleanroom production, including but not limited to Extrusion.
  • You’ll provide support for various production activities including the end of line processes.
  • You will embrace Continuous Improvement initiatives throughout the tubing value stream, working closely with Team Leaders to development and implement new ideas.
  • You will assist with the process validation of new equipment.
  • You will support and drive 5S activities across the Tubing value stream, ensuring the workspace is efficient and safe.
  • You will support process improvement investigations including Root Cause analysis and Corrective Actions.

Who You’ll Be Working With

You will be working within a team of extrusion operators and a team leader to produce silicone tubing. Operators receive high‑level training to handle tasks within the cleanroom, from wearing protective gear to operating cleanroom equipment.

Skills / Experience

  • Resilient and the ability to work in a high‑pressure work environment.
  • Working within a culture of continuous improvement for both production processes and Health & Safety.
  • Previous experience of working in a Cleanroom preferrable but not essential
  • Knowledge of cGMP
  • Teamwork – to work effectively within a team
  • A willingness to work in a fast‑paced environment based withing a class 7 clean room.
  • Medical device manufacturing background would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principals.
  • Experience of 5S processes.
  • A keen eye for detail and a willingness to utilise all available resources to drive process improvement.
