We’re currently seeking an Apprentice CNC Setter Operator to join us. You will work in a dynamic team of engineers, sales people, marketers, administrators and more, all focused on delivering high‑quality fluid technology solutions.
As part of the machine shop function you will be learning to set, run, program and maintain CNC machine tools. You will gain hands‑on experience with both milling and turning centres, support multiple machines and ultimately specialise as a multi‑skilled CNC setter operator.
What you’ll be doing
- Set up and operate CNC machines.
- Learn about cutting tools, geometries and grades.
- Maintain a safety‑first culture and comply with COSHH.
- Program and proof out components including work holding and fixturing.
- Use inspection equipment and perform non‑conformance investigations.
- Apply continuous improvement, lean and 5S principles.
- Understand and support the Watson‑Marlow values every day.
To be successful in this role, you will need
- An engineering aptitude demonstrated by previous learning.
- Good grades in mathematics and English.
- A willingness to learn.
- Good communication skills.
- The ability to commit to three years of training.
