IT Software Engineer/Dev in Gravesend

Overview

Hybrid System role based near Gravesend, Kent. Applicants must be able to travel to Gravesend/Kent once or twice a week. Note: Sponsorship and post-study visa restrictions apply; do NOT apply if you require sponsorship.

Job purpose

Responsibilities

• Take business requirements from conception to implementation utilising the Uniface platform and the underlying SQL server infrastructure.
• Diagnose and resolve problems in a professional and timely manner, including providing 3rd line technical support.

Skills Required

• 8+ years hands-on experience in developing and supporting business applications in an enterprise environment.
• Strong knowledge and experience of supporting and maintaining a SQL database server environment and associated database management.
• Technically proficient understanding of server infrastructure, networking infrastructure, and cyber security infrastructure.
• Able to influence and negotiate at an individual, team and cross-team level, with excellent customer-service skills.
• Ability to learn and pick up other technologies and digest new skills.
• Degree in an IT, computer science, or software development related discipline.

Employment details

• Employment type: Full-time
• Hours: Monday – Friday / 35 hours per week; typically 9am–5pm (or 8am–4pm with flexibility).
