We're looking for a Senior Project Manager with a background in construction who is able to lead multiple projects across the private and public sectors, for mixed-use developments, commercial building and/or fit-outs. As Senior Project Manager, you'll be supporting clients from concept to completion, including procuring a Design team, setting out budgets, securing main contractors (and subcontractors where necessary) and following RIBA work stages to deliver the project within the agreed timescale and budget.
Responsibilities
- Managing the day-to-day delivery of projects, ensuring that actions, decisions, programme updates, risk registers and stakeholder communications are maintained.
- Supporting the coordination of project teams, including designers, contractors and client stakeholders.
- Helping maintain programme and delivery momentum, ensuring the project team remains aligned on priorities, next steps and delivery plans.
- Preparing and managing procurement processes, including tender documentation, clarification responses and evaluation support.
- Building strong relationships with client teams and working as an embedded member of the client team rather than as a detached consultant.
- Contributing to the development of clear project strategies where project scope or brief may still be evolving.
- Supporting project governance processes including risk, actions, issues and decisions (RAID) tracking and reporting.
- Assisting with project reporting and documentation to ensure transparency, auditability and good project governance.
- Supporting colleagues and contributing to a collaborative, fun, professional project environment.
Skills & Experience
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and maintain clear communication.
- Ability to interpret and manage project information including programmes, risks and actions.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust quickly with client teams.
- Calm and pragmatic approach when working in complex or politically sensitive environments.
Candidate Profile
- 5+ years’ experience working in project management or a related professional services environment.
- Experience supporting the delivery of commercial fit-out, workplace, or property projects is desirable.
Location
A combination of working from home and working on-site - the role requires the ability to travel frequently between Reading, Didcot, Newbury and occasionally to Head Office in Bristol.
Salary & Package
- Full-time salary dependent on experience.
- Holiday allowance of 28 days holiday per annum, increasing to 29 days after 2 years, 31 days after 5 years, and 33 days after 10 years’ service.
- Flexible hours to enable a suitable balance between delivering projects, supporting the business, and everything else life has to offer.
- Company phone or phone allowance.
- Laptop – choice of MacBook Air or Surface.
- 1x professional membership subscription (e.g. APM, CIOB, RICS).
