We offer a range of professional and vocational qualifications accredited by recognised awarding bodies. We are working towards partnerships with UK universities and registration with the Office for Students (OfS), aiming to establish ourselves as a trusted higher education provider. To support our continued growth and vision for academic excellence, we are seeking a visionary and dynamic Principal to lead our academic and operational functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and operational management to ensure the academic success and institutional growth of Watney College.
- Oversee curriculum development, quality assurance, and academic compliance in line with awarding bodies and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure the highest standards of teaching, learning, and student support.
- Lead the college through external inspections, audits, and partnerships, including OfS registration and university affiliations.
- Recruit, manage, and develop academic and administrative staff.
- Drive initiatives for student engagement, retention, and achievement.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, and equality and diversity regulations.
- Maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, awarding bodies, regulatory authorities, and education partners.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum of a Master’s degree in Education or a related field (Doctorate preferred).
- At least 5 years of senior leadership experience in further or higher education.
- In-depth understanding of UK education frameworks, awarding bodies, and regulatory compliance (e.g., OfS, QAA, ESFA).
- Proven ability to lead teams and implement quality improvement measures.
- Strong strategic, operational, and financial management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
- A passion for inclusive education, innovation, and academic excellence.
