As Building Safety Officer, you will play an important role in helping us keep our homes and communities safe. Working closely with the Building Safety Manager, you will support the delivery of fire, asbestos, water and wider compliance activities across our assets. This includes monitoring safety actions, overseeing contractor work, maintaining accurate records, carrying out inspections, and keeping residents informed.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong knowledge of relevant legislation and health and safety requirements, together with a clear understanding of the factors that drive effective compliance. Excellent organisational skills are essential, along with the ability to manage stakeholders confidently and deliver high-quality, customer-focused services. Strong IT proficiency, complemented by outstanding interpersonal skills, and the confidence and credibility to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organisation are also vital.
Job Purpose
To support the Building Safety Manager (BSM) in ensuring full compliance with all regulatory, legislative, and non-statutory building safety requirements through effective management, monitoring, and delivery of inspection, maintenance, and compliance activities across fire, asbestos, and water safety.
