The Opportunity: Wills and Probate Solicitor – Full Time

An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Wills and Probate department for a qualified solicitor with up to 3 years’ experience, to support our small but established department. We are looking for a dedicated individual who is seeking a challenging yet rewarding role, looking to take the next step on their legal career path.

This is a full-time position (35 hours/week); Monday to Thursday 9 am to 5 pm, and Friday 8.30 am to 4 pm.The initial training will be provided in our Fishponds office. However, thereafter there may be the opportunity to work on a hybrid basis from home and either our Bristol (Fishponds), Bath or Hereford offices.

Main responsibilities:

You will be handling a broad base of probate and private client work, including administering estates, drafting wills and powers of attorney, handling tax, trusts and elderly client matters as well as a range of others. You must have a solid knowledge and understanding of probate and private client law.

  • Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with at least 1-year PQE (or equivalent experience)
  • A strong background in probate work
  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively manage a varied caseload from instructions through to completion
  • Exceptional client care skills and the ability to maintain high standards of service
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Staying up to date with developments in private client law
  • Collaborating with colleagues to support the growth of the department
  • STEP accreditation
