Location: Wath Upon Dearne

Employment Type: Full-Time / Permanent (This is a permanent position, not contract work)

Hours: Monday to Thursday: 08:00 - 17:00, Friday: 08:00 - 13:00

Salary: £16.00 - £18.50 per hour (dependent on experience)

Additional Pay: Hourly premium available for applicants holding in-date coded welder certifications (rate to be agreed upon verification)

Role Overview: We are looking for an experienced and motivated Welder / Fabricator to join our expanding manufacturing organisation. The role involves carrying out high-quality fabrication and welding tasks using MIG, TIG, and Stick (MMA) processes, working from engineering drawings, and supporting production where required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and work from engineering drawings and fabrication schematics
  • Carry out welding operations using MIG, TIG, and Stick processes on a range of materials (e.g. mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium)
  • Mark out, cut, fold, and prepare steel and other flat materials
  • Operate fabrication machinery including rollers for forming plate and section to required radii and profiles
  • Fabricate parts and components to specified tolerances
  • Ensure all welding is completed to the highest quality standards
  • Perform visual inspection and basic quality checks on completed work
  • Work alongside the engineering team to meet production targets and deadlines
  • Troubleshoot fabrication and welding issues and contribute to continuous improvement
  • Maintain equipment and adhere to safe working practices and EH&S procedures

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven experience in MIG welding and fabrication
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and weld symbols
  • Experience in fabrication processes (cutting, forming, assembly), including use of rollers
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Understanding and adherence to EH&S procedures

Desirable Skills / Experience:

  • TIG and/or Stick (MMA) welding experience
  • Previous roles such as Sheet Metal Worker or Fabricator Welder
  • Welding qualifications or coded welder certification (e.g. BS EN ISO 9606)
  • Experience working to relevant industry standards (ISO / BS EN)
