ROLE
The Planner I collaborates with planners, architects, and other project team members to design, coordinate, and present ideas relating to a variety of resort, residential, and urban mixed‑use planning and design projects. Under close supervision, the Planner I supports the team in the overall efforts of completing the various phases of a project.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform planning assignments, including drafting and production support, research, and design development on all phases of a project.
- Interpret verbal and written instructions from project leaders into completed documents, presentations, and deliverables.
- Update and modify working drawings, design sketches, diagrams, schedules, and other computer‑generated or hand‑drawn documents as directed.
- Work on copies of design sketches and planning layouts.
- Complete presentation and report packages.
- Assist with various project procedures, such as information storage, organization, and retrieval.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in urban design, urban planning, architecture, or landscape architecture.
- Recent graduate to 4+ years of experience in urban design, urban planning, or resort planning.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and SketchUp.
- Basic knowledge of Rhino and Revit, and any programming language.
- Basic database knowledge and experience in GIS geodatabases, Microsoft Access, or SQL.
- Basic knowledge and experience with Midjourney, and any latest AI tools approved by WATG for project work.
- Knowledge of sustainability analysis software preferred.
- Strong freehand illustration, digital graphic and rendering skills, and visualization.
- Experience with developing concept plans at different scales.
- Effective communication skills in verbal presentation, written narrative, and graphic representation.
- Ability to manage multiple project priorities and meet deadlines consistently.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
