We’re looking for a Chair of Trustees to help shape the strategic vision of Watford and Three Rivers Refugee Partnership as we move forward into our 25th year as a charity. This role supports our strategy in line with our mission and values.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Committee and other Trustees, sharing responsibility for the agenda and actions of Trustee meetings and the Annual General Meeting, improving governance and acting as a senior ambassador.
- Support the organisation as it grows and develops, including overseeing the administration and coordination of sub-committees.
- Attend at least some of our Tuesday hub/drop-in at St. Mary's Church, Watford (from 11:00 – 2:00 pm) to support the team.
- Work closely with our volunteer Operations Manager, helping conduct planned supervision and appraisals of small staff.
- Represent the Partnership to the public or external parties such as funders and community groups.
Qualifications and Experience
- Governance and previous committee experience.
- Business development and charitable fundraising.
- Human resources and people management.
- Financial background.
- Lived experience of being a refugee or migrant (preferred).
- Knowledge of safeguarding and related issues.
- Preferred location: West Hertfordshire or nearby.
