Department: Watford FC’s Community Sports and Education Trust

Reporting to: Player Development Officer

Hours: Monday Evenings 6-9pm (St Albans), Friday Evening 5-9:30pm (London Colney)

Hourly rate: L2 - £13.50 per hour, L3 - £16 per hour

Location: Samuel Ryder School (Mondays) & Watford FC Training Ground (Fridays)

Contract Type: Casual/Zero hours

Summary Of Your Role

Are you a passionate team player who wants to make a positive difference through football? Look no further and apply to join our Player Development team to deliver on our Advanced Player Development Centre in Hertfordshire. You will be key to educating & developing young people around how to develop as a footballer & as a person.

Your key responsibilities, but not limited to:

  • Providing high quality football delivery to local ‘advanced’ grassroots football players in line with projects values and structure.
  • Ensuring that coaching sessions delivered are in line with the FA Four Corner Model & our Advanced PDC coaching syllabus / style of play.
  • Ensuring you tailor your coaching approach / style to fit the individual needs for each player.
  • Ensuring the team provides high quality provision to all players.
  • Liaising with the joint Advanced PDC Head Coaches to build new & existing relationships with local grassroots football clubs and/or players.

You Must Have:

  • FA Level 2 / UEFA C Certificate (or working towards) in Coaching Football and up to date safeguarding and emergency aid certificates.
  • National Goalkeeping Award.
  • Experience of delivering high quality football sessions to ‘advanced’ Grassroots players.
  • Due to the demands of the role, you will need to have a full UK driving license and have access to a vehicle.
  • Flexible approach to working evenings, weekends, and commitment to fixtures during half terms.
  • FA Talent ID Level 1.
  • Understanding of the Trust commitment to EDI & Safeguarding.
  • Relevant experience working within football development/coaching.
  • Experience of coaching & developing ‘advanced grassroots’ players.

You Ideally Would Have:

  • UEFA Goalkeeping B Diploma or currently enrolled on a UEFA Goalkeeping B Diploma Course.
  • FA Level 3 (UEFA B) Certificate in Coaching Football, or currently enrolled on a Level Three (UEFA B) Course.
  • Experience working within a professional football clubs community trust / foundation within football development/coaching.
  • Experience of writing individual development plans.
  • FA Talent ID Level 1.
