The predicted salary is between 12 - 16 £ per hour.

Department: Watford FC Community Sports and Education Trust

Reporting to: Player Development Officer

Hours: One (1-hour 30mins) session per month

Hourly rate: L1 - £12.25 per hour, L2 - £13.50 per hour, L3 - £16 per hour

Location: All sessions take place once a month on a Friday from 6:30pm – 8pm at the Watford Training Ground.

Contract Type: Casual/Zero hours

Summary of Your Role

Are you a passionate team player who wants to make a positive difference for Disability football? Look no further and apply to be a disability coach working on our FA Talent Hub Programme. You will be key to educating & developing young people who are a part of the first steps of the England Para Pathway Programme and helping them to develop to become an England player. The players you will work with are players who are partially/fully deaf, partially sighted or have Cerebral Palsy and the focus on the sessions throughout the year is to help develop their technical, tactical, physical, social and psychological aspects within football whilst also making sure every session is fun, safe and engaging learning environment for all participants.

Your key responsibilities, but not limited to:

  • Plan, organize and deliver sessions following our designed syllabus helped by the FA on what they are looking for within players within the para pathway.
  • Ensuring you have an enthusiastic and energetic personality throughout each session when delivering.
  • Ensuring you can adapt and be flexible within your working environment when needed.
  • Show a great passion and motivation to work with children and young people with disabilities.
  • Have a clear understanding of safeguarding the importance of creating a safe learning environment for all participants.
  • Ensuring you are able to communicate effectively with all players no matter their disability (Interpreters are on sight to help support with the sessions).

You must have:

  • Minimum Level 2/ (UEFA C Certificate) in Coaching Football
  • FA Level 1 & UEFA C In-date First Aid and Safeguarding Qualifications
  • Experience working & coaching with children, young people and disability players
  • Good Organization and problem-solving skills
  • Enthusiastic and Energetic personality
  • Understanding of the Trust commitment to EDI & Safeguarding

You Ideally Would Have:

  • FA Level 2 (UEFA C) Certificate in Coaching Football or currently enrolled on a Level 3 (UEFA B) Course.
  • Experience working within a professional football clubs community trust / foundation within football development/coaching.
  • Some Basic understanding of Basic BSL Sign Language
