Private Sector Housing Officer Watford Are you a dynamic, skilled professional looking for an exciting challenge? The role will involve looking for accommodation for households who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. You will be required to source accommodation to resolve clients\’ homelessness journey within the private rented sector. Fixed Term Contract until April 2026 Full Time: 37 hours per week Salary: £35,327 per annum The role: This role will involve meeting landlords and letting agents inside and outside of Watford to secure accommodation. Watford Borough Council is currently strengthening its housing service to meet the significant housing challenges faced by its residents. A strong focus will be on managing demand for the Council’s Housing Services. What we are looking for: The successful candidate will have the drive to ensure the council meets its statutory duty. Ideally, candidates will already be working in a housing role and will be able to hit the ground running. Key requirements include effective negotiation & communication skills, partnership working, the ability and motivation to solve problems, personal credibility, and an approach that builds rapport and confidence.
