We have a fantastic opportunity for an established Pre-Construction Director to join our Advanced Manufacturing Construction team on a national basis with a hub based in our Sunderland office.
As a Senior Business Lead in Wates Construction, this role comes at a perfect time, where the successful candidate can take full accountability to shape, grow and develop the pre-construction strategy with the support of the newly formed leadership team.
As a work winning pre-construction specialist, we require someone who can embrace the Wates Pre-Construction Transformation Programme from pre bid through to the successful conversion of the second stage.
The successful candidate will align with the business plan as well as ensuring compliance with governance and process to enable the business unit to achieve sales budget. There is also a requirement to support business development activity to ensure future pipeline and actively participate in external networking.
This is an exciting time to grow our strategy, engage and motivate our teams to achieve success through excellently executed and considered bids.
As this role is pivotal to the success of the business unit we require:

  • Excellent value-added customer relationships and management leading to ongoing work,
  • Exceptional stakeholder management working in collaboration with our wider group and framework teams
  • A passion for work winning
  • A detailed strategic approach – through to execution in both work winning and PCSA conversion
  • Leading by example supporting and upskilling the team where appropriate, driving continuous improvement in performance
  • Resilience and adaptability responding to the business and customer needs.
  • Experience in winning bids on projects between 50-500m
  • A portfolio, evidencing successful bids through to growing sales
  • Excellently executed presentations
  • A drive to win with a great team spirit.
