Waterwhelm is an ambitious company focusing on the purification and desalination of water. We are currently building Forward Osmosis plants for both the UK and international markets, with confirmed orders extending beyond 2027. The Role
We are looking for an experienced Pipefitter / Fabricator with a strong background in stainless steel pipework and instrument tubing. This role involves both workshop-based fabrication and on-site installation of plant equipment. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently, capable of solving challenges on the spot, and adaptable to a variety of working environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabrication of stainless steel pipework and instrument tubing
- Installation of pipework systems and plant equipment on-site
- Installation of PPH and CPVC plastic pipework
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and P&IDs
- Working in fabrication workshops as well as on-site environments
- Assisting with installation and commissioning, including potential overseas work
- Occasional fabrication of frames and structural steel
Requirements
- 3-6 years’ experience in pipefitting and fabrication
- Proven experience with stainless steel pipework and instrument tubing
- Accuracy in preparation, tack-up and assembly is a must
- Ability to fabricate and install pipework to a high standard
- Competence in TIG, MIG, and MMA welding
- Welding certification not required, but all work must meet PSSR requirements and relevant standards
- Strong ability to work independently and resolve issues on-site
- Willingness to travel internationally for installation and commissioning work
- Experience in water treatment, brewery or process plant environments
- Previous installation and commissioning experience
- Basic structural steel fabrication skills
