Compass Pools by Waterstream Ltd. is the UK's premier provider of luxury pool installation and maintenance. We are looking for an engaging, commercially minded Full-Time Swimming Pool Design Consultant to join our specialist team, focusing on guiding high-net-worth clients through the selection and specification of our premium pre-formed pool shells and pool equipment packages.
The Role
While our headquarters are based in West Sussex, this is a nationwide, field-based role. You can be based anywhere in the UK, acting as the expert guide for our clients and transforming their initial inquiries into confirmed luxury pool projects. This role combines consultative sales with technical product expertise. You will work directly with homeowners, architects, and landscapers, guiding them through pool shell options, finishes, and equipment specifications to match each choice against site conditions, budget, and design intent. Success requires a highly professional approach, strong working knowledge of our product range, confidence discussing technical trade-offs with clients and trade professionals, and the ability to manage the full sales process from first enquiry through to project sign-off and handover. Commitment to delivering a bespoke, premium customer experience is essential.
Key responsibilities for Design Consultant - Luxury Swimming Pools
- Expert consultation: Guide clients through our extensive range of premium pool shells, helping them select the ideal shape, size, and colour to suit their property and lifestyle.
- Tailored specification: Advise on and specify luxury pool equipment, including heating, filtration, dosing, environmental controls, and automated covers.
- Site visits and feasibility: Conduct initial site visits across your designated region to assess spatial constraints, access for shell delivery (including craning logistics), and overall project feasibility.
- Managing the client journey: Nurture leads from initial inquiry through to presenting detailed proposals, securing the project, and ensuring a seamless handover to the operations and installation team.
- Relationship building: Develop strong, ongoing relationships with luxury homebuilders, architects, and landscape designers to promote the Compass Pools by Waterstream brand.
Desirable knowledge/skills
- A strong understanding of the luxury product consumer journey and experience managing high-value client accounts.
- Excellent spatial awareness and the ability to visualise how a pool shell will integrate into an existing garden or building plan.
- A basic understanding of construction, groundworks, or pool systems is highly advantageous (though full product training will be provided).
What we offer
- Competitive remuneration: Flexible pay structure offering either a higher basic salary with lower commission, or a lower basic salary with higher commission rates (OTE £40,000 - £60,000 based on current staff).
- Excellent benefits:
- Company car or car allowance provided for client and site visits.
- Access to continuous in-house training to master our product range and pool technology.
- Remote flexibility: The freedom to manage your own diary and work remotely while fully supported by our Head Office team.
- Career growth: The opportunity to become a recognised luxury pool specialist and play a pivotal role in the growth of a premium UK brand.
What we're looking for
- Proven experience in consultative advising, bespoke home improvements, luxury retail, or high-end project management.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with a professional, client-facing attitude.
- A natural relationship builder with a commercial mindset and a commitment to quality.
- A valid UK driving licence (essential).
- Willingness and flexibility to travel to client sites across the UK as required, with occasional visits to the West Sussex head office.
