We are Joloda Hydraroll and we are experts in material handling, particularly for loading and unloading processes. We’re more than ‘off-the-shelf’ at Joloda Hydraroll. We’re the pioneers, the creators, the experts. Here to innovate, automate and streamline your logistics to create the ideal solution to your loading problems. Our world-class team have been loading and unloading for over 60 years and we have more than 500,000 loading systems under our belt. Through our deep and extensive knowledge and expertise, we inspire change and make loading solutions more efficient and effective. We are the world leaders in loading solutions, and we’re here to lighten your load.
This fabrication apprenticeship will cover many manufacturing techniques where you will be operating a range of welding equipment, linishing and grinding machines, robotic arms, rumbling and hydraulic press machines and more. At Joloda Hydraroll, we manufacture a variety of loading and unloading solutions, and the fab shop is a key part of how we make these products. This encompasses our original product, the Skate, along with many other small fabrication jobs from impact protection assemblies to big rollers for moving air cargo.
Day-to-day, this looks like:
- Setting up a welder with the right current, voltage, gas and wire for the job and then producing parts for our products
- Learning how to resolve problems encountered with fabrication work such as heat management, clean-up or tolerances
- Operating a CNC Milling machine to drill and mill welded assemblies, replacing tools and loading and unloading parts
- Training in how to check the quality of your work and your colleagues work with various hand measurement equipment such as vernier callipers or gauges
- Interpreting technical drawings to compare with inspected parts
- Learning how to operate, load and unload robot welding and linishing machines, altering settings and programs to get the best results
- Deburring many different metal components with pillar drills, linishers, belt sanders and a stone rumbler
- Using press tools both manual and hydraulic to assemble, straighten and press different parts and assemblies together
- Work with the team to improve and be more productive every day
- Setting up jobs for new manufactured parts
These day-to-day responsibilities will help increase your knowledge of operating this type of machinery, as well as your scientific understanding of the engineering of steel fabrication. As we regularly manufacture new, previously unseen parts, you will have the opportunity to apply this knowledge in varied ways.
