Watershedd is looking for a Part 1 architectural assistant to join its collaborative studio in London.
Watershedd is a design led architecture and interior design practice working on high end new build houses and refurbishments for coastal and country homes across London, Cornwall and the wider UK. We are a small, close knit studio and are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Part 1 Architectural Assistant to support the team across a range of residential projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is keen to develop their design and technical skills within a supportive environment.
Responsibilities:
- assisting the team with concept design, design development and technical packages
- producing drawings for planning applications and tender information
- preparing design presentations, mood boards and visual material for client meetings
- assisting with 3D modelling and visualisation work
- liaising with consultants including structural and mechanical engineers
- attending site meetings and assisting with on site queries when required
Skills and experience:
- strong design ability with a well-presented portfolio demonstrating creativity, visual awareness and attention to detail
- a genuine interest in high-quality residential architecture, interiors and material-led design
- confident 3D modelling skills with the ability to clearly communicate design ideas through drawings, diagrams, models and visualisations
- a good eye for graphic design and presentation, with care taken over the quality and clarity of work produced
- an enthusiastic and thoughtful approach to design, with a willingness to explore ideas and contribute creatively to projects
- well organised and methodical, with the ability to manage tasks across multiple projects with guidance from the wider team
- positive, collaborative and confident communicating as part of a design team
- self motivated, curious and keen to learn, with a genuine interest in developing both design and technical knowledge
- proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop and InDesign
- experience with a CAD and 3D modelling package; Vectorworks experience is beneficial but not essential, with training provided where required
Essential:
- Part 1 qualified or equivalent
- eligibility to work in the UK
- good written and spoken English
