Sokin’s London Business Development team is growing, and we’re looking for an exceptional Business Development Manager to join the team and support our continued growth. Targeting enterprise-level clients as well as SMEs, this is a full 360 role where you’ll be responsible for building your own pipeline, developing long-term relationships, and working with some of the biggest companies in the world. We’re looking for a driven, hungry, and ambitious BDM with proven experience engaging senior stakeholders and clients, and a consistent track record of hitting and exceeding targets. You’ll be commercially astute, relationship-focused, and motivated by winning new business in a fast-growing, global environment.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Strategic New Business Growth: Develop and execute a strategic new business development plan to drive revenue growth, market share expansion, and achieve organizational objectives through the acquisition of new logos to the business. Identify new market opportunities and stay informed about emerging trends and technologies in the remittance industry.
  • Market Analysis and Competitive Intelligence: Conduct in-depth market analysis, competitor benchmarking, and customer feedback analysis to identify business opportunities and gain a competitive edge. Translate market insights into actionable strategies and tactics to drive business growth.
  • Customer Acquisition and Retention: Oversee customer acquisition strategies to expand our customer base and increase brand loyalty. Implement customer retention initiatives and ensure exceptional customer service to maximize customer satisfaction and recurring business.
  • Financial Performance and Reporting: Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support business development initiatives. Monitor financial performance, analyse variances, and provide regular reports to senior management.

Requirements

  • Minimum 6+ years of progressive experience in business development within the remittance or financial services industry, with a proven track record of achieving business objectives.
  • Strong understanding of remittance market dynamics, regulatory compliance, and industry trends.
  • Proven track record of building a pipeline within sectors and converting those connections into new business.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to think strategically, analyse market trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence key stakeholders, both written and verbal/over the phone/via email.
  • Previous experience working in a FinTech/Start-Up environment Payments/Remittance market in a business development or sales role, preferably in the remittance industry is preferred but not essential.
  • Proven ability to identify and generate new business opportunities, resulting in increased revenue and growth.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and results-driven mindset with a strong spirit.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, as well as independently.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
