Waters are looking for a New Products Material Planner and Buyer. This is a great opportunity to join our planning team responsible for new product introductions. This will involve sourcing the most suitable components for our new products from suppliers, creating a bill of materials, and updating relevant systems with component parts and supplies. You will work with on average three new product introductions at any one time and be an integral part of our team.
Materials Planner and Buyer for New Products is a challenging and engaging role for someone looking to take the next step in their planning career working in a fast-paced environment, meeting targets and deadlines in collaboration with other departments. This would suit someone with Buying, Planning, Supply Chain, New Product, Engineering or Manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities- Product planning: Plan and procure 'newly designed' materials required for verification and validation of resourced product.
- Develop cost projections to accurately predict cost comparisons to support supply chain change.
- Ensure SAP Planning and Master data is accurately maintained in conjunction with planned changes.
- Define and maintain product routings for both production and development.
- Complete Quality System related actions in a timely manner according to procedures e.g. CAPA (Corrective and Preventive actions), NCR (Non-Conformance Report).
- Repairs planning: Raising Production Rework orders, Raising of Purchase Orders for refurbishments, Review and acceptance/refusal of supplier quotes for refurbishment.
- Ensure ‘On Time and In Full’ purchase order delivery for refurbishments.
- Ensure that credit is obtained from Suppliers for supplier caused failures.
- Timely resolution of invoice/delivery queries.
- Any other related duties as specified by the Line Manager for the benefit of the department.
- Experience in any purchasing, supply chain or buying role. We are open to candidates from different industries or backgrounds.
- Knowledge of engineering concepts could be useful, but this is also something we can train.
- Experience of using SAP.
- Financial acumen – Understands the impact of supply chain decisions on the P&L.
